Martins Dukurs made it four wins out of four at this season's Skeleton World Cup in Lake Placid today - with his brother making it a family affair on the podium by finishing third.

The 31-year-old Latvian has already won on three German tracks - Altenberg, Winterberg and Königssee - this season, and maintained his 100 per cent record on the American course.

His combined time of 1 min 48.28 sec saw Dukurs, a triple world champion and double Olympic silver medallist, take victory in the two-time Winter Olympic host ahead of South Korean Yun Sungbin, who was 0.48 adrift.

Yun improved on his third place last time out in Königssee to take second spot as he builds towards his home Olympics in Pyeongchang in 2018.

Bronze went to Dukurs' older brother Tomass, with the 34-year-old World Championship bronze medallist coming home 0.85 behind his sibling.

Martins Dukurs, who is looking for a seventh straight World Cup title, now has the maximum available haul of 900 points on top of the overall standings.

Germany's Axel Jungk is second with 770 after a fourth place finish in Lake Placid, with Tomass Dukurs third on 752 after a first podium of the season.

Sochi 2014 champion Alexander Tretiakov was second overall after finishing runner-up behind Dukurs at the first three World Cups this season - a spot he shared with Jungk in Winterberg - but the Russian was absent today and has slipped to fifth.

The International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation World Cup season will continue in Park City on January 16.
