Every is due to start her new role on February 8 with Ian Price continuing to assist as interim chief executive during her first two weeks before returning to his role as Board member and treasurer.

She replaces Nigel Laughton, who left his position in September with Pentathlon GB citing "significant differences" between him and the Board as the reason.

It is claimed the differences centered predominately on aspirations and the specifics of implementing Pentathlon GB’s updated strategy, particularly with regards to hosting international events annually.

In her previous role, Every worked closely with the FA’s technical director on plans aimed at ensuring the success of England’s football team and raising standards of coaching following the opening of St George’s Park, the national football training centre near Burton upon Trent, in 2012.

All in all, she spent more than a decade at the FA, serving most notably as the governing body’s head of learning which saw her lead the establishment and growth of the organisation’s educational business between 2005 and 2009.

Every, a qualified programme and project manager, then went on to become executive lead for the design, build and opening of St George’s Park.

Before working for the FA, Every was head of sports for AVC Media in Aberdeen, specialising in the production of specialist DVDs for sporting associations and clubs.

"With my experience in the sports industry and most recently in elite football, I am looking forward to leading Pentathlon GB.

"I want to shape and prioritise its new strategy and deliver success with ambitious performance and development goals in the years ahead, inspiring the next generation of pentathletes.

"I am really looking forward to engaging with everyone involved in the sport, especially the performance teams and athletes and the dedicated staff and volunteers who play such a significant role in the promotion and organisation of pentathlon across Great Britain.

"With Rio on the horizon we are moving into an exciting period."

Previously a keen National League hockey player, Every has now turned to triathlon as she tries to balance her love of competitive sport with spending time with her two young daughters.

Originally from Herefordshire, she graduated from the University of Birmingham and, after living in Scotland, London and Staffordshire, is now based in Bath.

"Danielle Every brings a wealth of talent and enthusiasm to this crucial role," said Tony Temple, chairman of the Pentathlon GB Board.

"The Board is delighted to announce her appointment and wishes Dani every success."

Britain won one pentathlon medal at London 2012 as Samantha Murray claimed silver in the women's event.
