Kellogg’s has announced it will be offering five winners a £15,000 ($22,300/€20,300) trip to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games via a text-to-win competition.

The breakfast and snacks giant were confirmed as an official partner of Team GB for the Games earlier this month and have now revealed their competition, which they hope will drive further interest ahead of the Olympics.

From April to June, Kellogg’s will run the text to win competition with winners receiving tickets to athletics, beach volleyball, boxing and modern pentathlon events.

Additionally, as part of the package they will be able to attend the Closing Ceremony of the Games and enjoy a tour of Team GB House and the Athletes’ Village in Barra da Tijuca.

Flights, four-star accommodation and spending money are also set to be offered to the winners of the competition.

The promotion will be one of several by the company during the build-up to the Games, with “Win Tickets to Rio” set to feature on around 38 million of their packs throughout the duration of the year.

It will be included on packs of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, Special K, Squares and Pringles, with the latter set to have two new and limited edition flavours unveiled in the summer ahead of Rio 2016.

The drive will hope to achieve the company’s ambition to bring their sponsorship with the British Olympic Association to life through a full year of marketing and an activation programme.

Kellogg’s have Team GB marketing rights across its brands until the end of 2016.

While the company have already unveiled their competition, they are also expected to name several ambassadors over the coming months, comprising of big name current and former athletes.
