Slovenia’s Peter Prevc claimed a second successive victory in the Swiss town of Engelberg to further increase his advantage in the International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup overall standings.

Prevc, who beat his brother Domen to the top of podium yesterday, posted jumps of 138.5 metres and 142m to take the win and now holds a 165-point lead over Germany’s Severin Freund.

"It's a great feeling to win two competitions within 24 hours on the same hill," said Prevc, who recorded 304.2 points and whose second jump today was a hill record.

"I already felt during the flight that it would be a long jump, but I didn't really realise it until I saw the numbers on the display.

"I'm not sad that the hill will be reconstructed, because now I'll forever be the record holder on this hill and next year I'll have the chance to set a new hill record.

"We will drive back to Slovenia today and do some physical training there.

"Next week we'll have National Championships in Planica and then I'll spend a few days with my family over Christmas."

Austria’s Michael Hayboeck had to settle for the runners-up spot, achieving his second podium finish of the season with jumps of 136.5m and 135.5m, and 284.8 points.

"The second jump today was very good," he said.

"Now I can go into the Christmas break with a positive feeling.

"The Four-Hills-Tournament is the first highlight of the season, but now I have to stop thinking about the first third of the season and spend a few calm days with my family."

With jumps of 135m and 132m and a total of 279.8 points, Norway's Kenneth Gangnes stepped onto the podium for the third time this campaign.

"I am really happy about my jumps today," said Gangnes, third in the overall World Cup standings with 370 points.

"I don’t understand why everybody is asking what we are doing differently, because we didn’t prepare in any different way.

"We have good coaches and a really good team, so we can really push each other.

"We will go back to Norway now, do some training and then spend some days with our families."

Fourth place went to Gangnes’ team-mate Johann Andre Forfang with jumps of 136m and 131m, and a score of 276.5 points.

After his second place yesterday, Domen Prevc came fifth with jumps of 137m and 128.5m, and 273.8 points.

Freund missed out on the chance of a better result with two bad landings and finished sixth on 271.3 points.

After a short break over Christmas, the Four-Hills-Tournament will start with the qualification in Oberstdorf, Germany, on December 28.
