Norway continued their domination of this year's International Ski Federation (FIS) Cross-Country World Cup by claiming both titles on offer today in Davos, Switzerland.

Two-time Olympic medallist Martin Johnsrud Sundby recorded his fourth victory of the campaign in the men's 30 kilometres freestyle while Therese Johaug has now topped the podium in five of the six races this term after her success in the women's 15km freestyle.

Sundby won his third World Cup race in a row as he came home 20.7 sec ahead of France's Maurice Manificat with a total time of 1 hour 6:27 min.

The duo enjoyed a fierce battle before Sundby, last season's overall champion, powered away to put daylight between himself and his rival.

Norway also claimed the bronze medal as Anders Gloeersen, last year's 15km freestyle winner in Davos, finished 28.6 sec behind his compatriot.

"The races in Davos kill me every year," said Sundby.

"The last two kilometres were almost impossible to ski.

"I tried to ski easy on the way to the top but I was tired in the lapping."

Sundby has 566 points at the top of the overall standings, ahead of team-mate Petter Northug and Niklas Dyrhaug who have 339 and 279 respectively.

Meanwhile, Johaug's win came in a time of 35.40 with Norway completing a clean sweep of the podium thanks to second placed Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg, who finished 1.10 behind, and third placed Heidi Weng who was 1.15 off the pace of the winner.

Kerttu Niskanen of Finland was the first non-Norwegian finisher in sixth, with Johaug winning for the first time at the World Cup in the discipline.

"It was my best race ever in Davos," she said.

"I’m really in a good shape these days.

"I wanted to be focused on my skiing and technique.

"I had amazing skis.

"It was very fun to compete today.

"The whole Norwegian team was very strong today."

Johaug has 543 points at the top of the overall standings, ahead of Østberg who is on 343 and Weng who has collected 316.

The Davos leg of the World Cup continues tomorrow with men's and women's freestyle sprints.

Norwegian skiers have won every individual and team race contested so far this season.
