China won both the men’s and women’s synchro titles on the penultimate day of action at the Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships in Odense.

Zhong Xingping and Li Dan combined to score a winning total of 50.300 in the women’s final before 2014 world champion Tu Xiao and London 2012 Olympic gold medallist Dong Dong registered 52.900 in the men's to take top honours.

Belarus’ Piatrenia Tatsiana and Harchonak Hanna claimed women’s silver with 47.400 ahead of Ukraine’s Kyiko Maryna and Moskvina Nataliia on 47.300.

There was a runners-up spot for Belarus in the men’s event as Kazak Mikalai and Hancharou Uladzislau registered 50.800, while France’s Martiny Sebastien and Morante Allan completed the podium on 50.000.

Earlier, Jia Fangfang won China its first gold medal of the day by claiming victory in the women’s tumbling final with 71.800.

Fangfang’s compatriot Chen Lingxi had to settle for bronze with 67.900, finishing behind Great Britain’s Lucie Colebeck on 69.100.

In the men’s tumbling team final, Russia’s quartet of Andrey Krylov, Tagir Murtazaev, Timofei Podust and Grigory Noskov came out on top with 118.000, followed by the foursomes of China and the United States.

Gold medals also went the way of Canada and the US in the double mini-trampoline women’s team and men’s individual finals respectively.

Canada’s Arden Oh, Danielle Gruber, Tamara O’Brien and Karine Dufour edged their counterparts from Britain and the US with 103.900, while the US’s Austin White posted 79.600 with Russia's Mikhail Zalomin and Australia’s Matthew Weal second and third. 

Action is set to conclude in the Danish city tomorrow.
