Turkey beat Italy 3-0 at the IBSA Blind Football European Championships thanks to a hat-trick from Emrah Ocal ©RNC

Emrah Ocal scored his second hat-trick of the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Blind Football European Championships to fire Turkey to a 3-0 victory against Italy at the Royal National College for the Blind in Hereford, England and maintain their unbeaten record.

Turkey followed up a draw against Germany in their Group A opener with a 6-0 win against Poland yesterday, and it did not take long for them to get back into the goalscoring rhythm as Ocal drove the ball past Italy goalkeeper Marco Dottaviantonio.

Ocal claimed a three-goal haul in Turkey’s hammering of Poland and, after directing a free-kick past the hapless Dottaviantonio seven minutes before half-time, he was well on course for another.

Dottaviantonio denied Ocal with a fabulous save in the second-half before thwarting Kahraman Kurbetoglu’s attempt from the penalty spot, but could do nothing about Ocal’s neatly-placed shot as the game drew to its conclusion.

In the other Group A encounter, Germany made it four points from two matches with a 2-0 win against Poland, who have lost three out of three.

Taime Kuttig and Alexander Fangmann scored either side of half-time for the Germans, despite coming up against a stubborn Polish outfit.

Meanwhile in Group B, David Labarre scored the only goal of the game as France overcame Greece to make it two consecutive victories, while Russia played out a goalless draw against Belgium.

Tomorrow’s action in Group A is due to see Poland take on Italy before England face Germany.

In Group B, Belgium meet Greece following Russia's encounter with defending champions Spain.
