Great Britain’s Sophie Hahn, who broke her own women's 100 metres T38 world record at the recent International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletics Grand Prix Final in London, is one of five nominees for July’s IPC Allianz Athlete of the Month award.

Hahn posted a time of 13sec to break the 13.04 she clocked in Loughborough last year, finishing ahead of Russia’s Paralympic champion Margarita Goncharova and fellow Briton Olivia Breen in second and third respectively.

The 16-year-old is joined on the shortlist by Brazil’s Daniel Dias, winner of seven men's S5 and SB4 gold medals in as many days at the IPC Swimming World Championships in Glasgow.

Dias' win in the men's S5 100m freestyle earned him his 24th World Championships gold and completed a full-house of titles across all seven days of competition in the Scottish city.

As well as leaving Glasgow as the most decorated athlete, Dias also added a Championships record with a time of 1:08.85.

Completing the quintet of nominees is Rwandan sitting volleyball player Lilian Mukobwankabo, Iranian powerlifter Siamand Rahman and British wheelchair tennis player Jordanne Whiley.

Mukobwankabo captained Rwanda to success in the ParaVolley Africa Sitting Volleyball Championships finals with the hosts overturning a 2-1 set deficit to defeat Egypt in Kigali.

The win secured a qualification slot for Rwanda at Rio 2016, the first time a women's sitting volleyball team has qualified for a Paralympic Games.

Rahman broke the men’s over 107 kilograms world record twice on his way to winning the 2015 IPC Powerlifting Asian Open Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The 27-year-old added 1kg onto his previous best of 292kg in the second round before successfully lifting 295kg with his final attempt.

Whiley meanwhile successfully defended a title for the first time as she and Japan's Yui Kamiji retained their Wimbledon doubles crown.

The London 2012 bronze medallist also won her first Super Series singles title, beating The Netherlands' Aniek van Koot at the British Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships in Nottingham.

The public has until 12:00 CET on August 11 to vote for the athlete they want to be the Allianz Athlete of the Month for July by clicking here.

The nominations are compiled from submissions by National Paralympic Committees and International Federations.

The winner for June was Eduard Ramonov, who helped Russia defend their Cerebral Palsy Football World Championships title.

Ramonov scored in five of six matches, and was voted by the coaches as the most valuable player of the tournament at St George's Park in Burton on Trent, England.
