There was praise for the The Academy as it wrapped up its successful first edition here today.

The Academy wrapped up on a high note with a passionate contribution on techniques of persuasion by McKelvey-Grant Professor Samuel Bacharach from Cornel University and founder of of Bacharach Leadership Group (BLG), helping participants to understand the behavioural aspects of persuasion.

During the interactive session, the participants were challenged to think about how they approach moving agendas and proposing ideas for the future of their sport.

The afternoon session saw insights from the international sports world on The Academy's main three topics of revenue, promotion and influence, with great contributions from Nenad Lalovic, President of United World Wrestling; Sarah Lewis, general secretary of the International Ski Federation; Michael Payne, the chief executive of Payne Sports Media Strategies; Sabrina Zeender, general secretary of the International Equestrian Federation; and Duncan Mackay, editor-in-chief of insidethegames, who were the exclusive official media partners for the event.

The Academy is aimed at the development of sports executives from the top echelon of National Sports Federations, National Olympic Committees and international governing bodies and sports organisations.

Lars Haue-Pedersen, managing director of the organisers TSE Consulting and moderator said: "We hope that this conference sets a new standard for the development of sports professionals.

"At TSE Consulting we find professional development very important and we are happy to be able to contribute to the development of other professionals in our sector."
