Nestlé Azerbaijan will supply coffee confectionery and cereal bars during Baku 2015 ©Getty ImagesNestlé Azerbaijan has signed an agreement with Baku 2015 which will see it serve as the official confectionery supplier at the inaugural European Games.

Under the terms of the deal, the world's largest nutrition company will supply coffee, confectionery and cereal bars, which will be made available to spectators at all venues during the Games.

The Nestlé brands covered by the agreement include Kit Kat, Lion Bar, Nestlé Fitness and Nescafé.

Nestlé Azerbaijan becomes the ninth Official Supporter of the Games, joining Azersun Holding, Bazarstore, McDonald's Azerbaijan, Milla, Motorola Solutions, NAZ, Sitecore and Tickethour.

"Nestlé is a globally recognised brand, and will be valuable supplier to the first ever European Games," said Simon Clegg, chief operating officer of Baku 2015.

"The company joins other renowned international and Azerbaijani brands partnering with the Games and supporting this exciting addition to the sporting calendar."

Baku 2015 is set to feature more than 6,000 athletes across 20 sports - 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic ones - with competition taking place over 17 days from June 12 to 28. 

A total of 12 of the sports will offer qualification opportunities for Rio 2016, consisting of archery, athletics, boxing, cycling, judo, shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, triathlon, volleyball and wrestling.

Baku was awarded the Games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.

The Baku European Games Operations Committee is organising the Games in cooperation with the EOC.
