The pair, who faced off in the quarter-finals of the singles competition, cruised to a 6-4, 6-4 win.

Wagner also progressed to the quad singles final where he will renew his rivalry with world number two and Australian Open champion Dylan Alcott of Australia after both players clinched their place thanks to straight-sets wins.

Alcott earned a commanding 6-1, 6-3 victory over Lapthorne but the 41-year-old American was made to work a little harder for his place in the final as he battled to a 7-6, 7-5 win against Burdekin, another Briton.

Elsewhere, Sweden's Stefan Olsson shocked second seed Joachim Gerard of Belgium to seal his spot in the men's singles semi-finals in a closely fought contest.

Olsson, himself a former world number two, battled through with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory and he will now go on to face Dutch fourth seed Maikel Scheffers, who powered past Evans Maripa of South Africa, dropping just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 thrashing.

Britain's defending champion Gordon Reid is also in the last four after he beat Frenchman Michael Jeremiasz, conquereor of British sixth seed Marc McCarroll in the second round, with relative ease in a 6-1, 6-3 success to book a meeting with Nicolas Peifer, who is also French.

Gerard still has a chance of success in Florida, however, as he reached the men's doubles final alongside Reid in what is the first tournament where the pair have competed together after they beat the French duo of Jeremiasz and Peifer.

In the women's singles, the last four will feature two British player after Lucy Shuker earned a comfortable 6-0, 6-1 win over Germany's world number eight Katharina Kruger.

She will now play Kruger's teammate and top seed Sabine Ellerbrock for a place in the final.

Ellerbrock ousted Mexico's Claudia Taboada, ompeting in the quarter-finals of an ITF 1 Series event for the first time, with a crushing 6-0, 6-0 victory.

Meanwhile, 2013 champion Marjolein Buis of The Netherlands will face British second seed Jordanne Whiley after both players progressed with comfortable straight-sets victories against Kgothatso Montjane of South Africa and The Netherlands' Michaela Spaanstra respectively.

The women's doubles final is also set to be an exciting affair as it will see the top two seeds battle it out for the title when Shuker and Whiley take on Buis and Spaanstra.
