Wheelchair curler Haksung Kim has been announced as a Pyeongchang 2018 ambassador ©Pyongchang 2018Photographer Seihon Cho and wheelchair curler Haksung Kim are the latest ambassadors to be unveiled for the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.

Cho is well known in the host nation as a photographer focusing on the humanitarian purposes of promoting aid for people with disadvantages, while Kim was part of the South Korean team that won a Paralympic silver medal at Vancouver 2010.

The wheelchair curler, who played a key role in Pyeongchang's successful bid in 2011 to host the Games, will be an ambassador for both the Olympics and the subsequent Paralympics.

Both figures will be officially unveiled at the 1st "Pyeongchang 2018 Paralympic Day" proclamation event in Seoul's Gwanghwamun Square on Saturday (March 14).

Cho has already been working as the Paralympic specialised photographer since 2006 and has recorded historic moments of physically-impaired athletes from Beijing 2008 until Sochi 2014 as an official photographer of International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

His collection of photographs based on the theme of "Paralympic Sports" will be exhibited for public to view and enjoy during the event on Saturday.

The unveiling comes days before next week's IOC Coordination Commission inspection of the 2018 host, with organisers currently facing several challenges, including calls for several of the venues to be shifted to other parts of the host nation.

Other ambassadors to have already been confirmed include six-time Olympic speed skater speed skating legend Lee Kyou-Hyuk, Vancouver 2010 figure skating champion Kim Yuna and baseball superstar Shin-soo Choo.
