The 2015 President's Sambo Cup will be staged in Manchester at the end of September, it has been announced.
This year's tournament, which will be held at EventCity from September 25 to 27, will be the second edition of the event and also the second time it has taken place in the United Kingdom, with Kent hosting the 2014 competition.
"The city [Manchester] is famous for its football history, and it will be joined by the record of sambo events starting from this year," said Michael Parker, chairman of the Sambo Association of the British Commonwealth and a member of the competition's Organising Committee.
"We have reached final arrangements for holding the tournament this year.
"Last year's competition was on everyone's lips, a great interest to sambo appeared in our country, and the inflow of those willing to go into sambo in British clubs significantly increased.
"The first tournament is remembered for its bright and friendly atmosphere."
Parker claimed the trademarks of the tournament last year included its format, with mixed team competitions, the show programme, which included exhibition performances, and the performances by the Scottish Royal Regimental Drums and Pipes Military Band.
"This time, our guests once more will be welcomed with pleasant surprises and interesting marketing solutions," he added.
Last year's President's Sambo Cup attracted competitors from a number of nations, including hosts Great Britain, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
The Cup, which is made of gold and silver and encrusted with 12 types of natural stone - jade, jasper, turquoise, mother of pearl, rhodonite, beryl, lazurite, charoite, amber, malachite, aventurine and jadeite - was taken home by Russia when they defeated the home team in the final with a score of 7-2.
It will now travel from Russia back to Britain in late September, where the teams will battle it out for the prize.
