Seven FIFA Executive Committee candidates have been confirmed by the AFC ©AFCSeven candidates will stand for three positions for Asian representatives on the FIFA Executive Committee at next month's Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Ordinary Congress in Bahrain, it has been confirmed.

As expected, AFC President Shaikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa of Bahrain will stand uncontested for the FIFA vice-presidency, with the official set to replace Jordan's FIFA Presidential contender, Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein, whose term has concluded.

Shaikh Salman is consequently vacating his Executive Committee position halfway through his term, while the terms of Thailand's Dato' Worawi Makudi and China's Zhang Jilong are coming to an end.

This means there is one two-year term on the Committee up for election, as well as two four-year ones.

Unlike Jilong, Makudi is standing again, with opposition led by Kuwait's Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah, President of the Association National Olympic Committees and Olympic Council of Asia and considered one of the most influential figures in sport.

Also standing is Football Association of Malaysia President Prince Abdullah Al-Haj Ibni Sultan Hj Ahmad Shah and South Korea Football Association chief Chung Mong-gyu, as well as Japan Football Association vice-president, Kohzo Tashima.

Qatar Football Association vice-president Saoud Al Mohannadi has also thrown his hat into the ring - which, if he is successful, would ensure representation from the nation set to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The line up is completed by Oman's Sayyid Khalid Hamed Hamood Al Busaidi.

Decisions will be made during the Congress in the Gulf Convention Centre in the Bahraini capital of Manama on April 30.

Zhang Jilong is seeking re-election, with Singapore's Winston Lee Boon Aun, Iran's Ali Kafashian Naeini, Pakistan's Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat and India's Praful Manoharbhai Patel also standing, along with Saoud Al Mohannadi of Qatar once again.
