Dufour-Lapointe's main competition in the ladies event continues to come from Hannah Kearney, as the American snapped at the Canadians's heels in the World Cup event in Lake Placid.

Dufour-Lapointe high turning scores snuffed out Kearney's edge in the jumps, and the newly crowned world champions' speed proved to be the decisive difference between the two women, the Canadian's score of 86.86 proving just enough to seal victory ahead of Kearney's 86.43.

The event proved to be a special moment for another Canadian woman as Andi Naude sealed the first podium of career.

Dufour-Lapointe's second World Cup victory in a row sees her extend her advantage over Kearney in the overall standings to 59 points, while her sister Chloe Dufour-Lapointe lies third.

In the men's competition, Mikael Kingsbury extended his remarkable overall advantage in the World Cup with a fourth consecutive victory.

Kinsbury dominated the field to finish with a score of 90.54, a comfortable margin of victory over second place Alexandr Smyshlyaev's 87.97, with another Canadian Marc-Antoine Gagnon third.

Kingsbury now has 429 points in the World Cup standings and lies 204 clear of compatriot Philippe Marquis' 225 points.

The next FIS Freestyle World Cup moguls event is due to take place on February 7 in Val St.Come, Canada, where there is likely to be an air of celebration given their skiers' World Championship and World Cup performances.
