The Sports United programme has been produced in collaboration with SportAccord ©Euronews/SportAccordThe first edition of "Sports United", a weekly sports magazine featuring a variety of different events, will be broadcast on Euronews tonight in collaboration with SportAccord, the umbrella body for international federations.

"Sports United", billed as one of the most complex sports programmes ever produced by an international news channel, will feature more than 300 sport disciplines, with SportAccord set to provide the images for the weekly eight-minute long programme.

The programme will be broadcast each Thursday at 8.45 pm CET and will feature a combination of different sports, disciplines and sporting moments, with the first edition to feature news from football, handball, cycling and archery among other sports.

"SportAccord, in partnership with the international sports federations, has been able to make an exceptional beginning with Sports United," said the organisation's President, Marius Vizer.

"Ninety two international sports will get an equal chance to utilise a common platform for visibility.

"We are thankful to Euronews for being our partners in this endeavour and look forward to a great partnership to ensure that a well-defined product reaches out to sports fans globally to provide information and power aspirations.

"I have to point out that none of this would be possible without the encouragement and participation of the primary players - the international sports."

The show was announced during November's IF Forum in Lausanne and will be rolled out to an audience spanning around 415 million households across 156 countries.

The show will be composed of six segments and will be broadcast in 13 languages, including Arabic and Persian, as well as 11 European ones, while the show will also be available online here via the SportAccord Sports Hub on YouTube.
