The A-NOC and NOCT have announced they have signed a Memorandum of Bilateral Co-operation in Ashbagat ©A-NOCThe Afghanistan National Olympic Committee (A-NOC) and the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan (NOCT) have signed a Memorandum of Bilateral Co-Operation, it has been announced.

The deal, signed by A-NOC President Fahim Hashimy and President of Turkimenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, also includes a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the main aim being to strengthen the relations between the Olympic Committees of the two nations.

Sports competitions between the two nations will be held, they will exchange scientific and technical details of sports and visits of sports delegations from both countries will be promoted.

Another part of the MoU provides the opportunity for Afghan athletes to attend training camps and competitions in Turkmenistan.

The NOCT have also promised they will cooperate with Afghan athletes with their participation in the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in 2017. 

The visit in Ashgabat lasted two days and the MOU will include a primary target of continuing to develop sport across both nations.

Afghanistan and Turkmenistan have friendly relations in other fields but mainly in sport, and the MoU will also enhance the cooperation of the two Olympic Committees, it is claimed.
