SportAccord Convention have announced VITAL Communications to assist with April's Conference ©SACVital Communications have been appointed to "expand the reach" of the SportAccord Convention (SAC) ahead of next April's World Sport and Business Summit in Sochi.

Next year's event, taking place from April 19 to 25, is expected to be on a far bigger scale than previous editions's of the Convention, with the number of delegates set to increase from 2,000 to as many as 8,000.

Following the decision not to renew their contract with London-based marketing and communications company, RedTorch, the appointment of a company with huge experience in the sports industry will help with many aspects of organisation, it is hoped.

Vital Communications was set up in 1990 by New York-based William Vitale, who previously held positions at NBC and ABC Sports, with the company acting as exclusive North American representative of the Sportel World Sports Content Media Convention until 2010.

"I am very excited to be supporting the growth plans of SportAccord Convention," said Vitale after the agreement with SAC was announced.

"We have a wonderful opportunity to broaden participation and help to make the annual World Sport and Business Summit a must attend event for all sectors of the international sports community."

SAC Managing Director Nis Hatt added: "Mr. Vitale, an Attorney, has more than 35 years' experience in the television industry, including executive positions at NBC Television Network and ABC Sports.

"By collaborating with one of the pioneers of Sportel, we truly strengthen the presence of media providers available to delegates."

The SAC World Sport and Business Summit is billed as the world's premier annual event at the service of sport, focused on driving positive change internationally, and dedicated to engaging rights holders, Organising Committees, cities, press and media, businesses and other organisations in the development of sport.
