Both bands applied to perform at the Festival - which is due to take place from January 25 to 30 in Vorarlberg and Liechtenstein - via the music platform v:tunes and came out on top ahead of 20 other bands.

Linksabbiega, described as "a musical integration project with guaranteed dance compulsion", will take to the stage on January 25, while Vertigo, a four-man band from the joint hosts, will entertain the crowd on January 27.

"Vertigo and Linksabbiega will get the vibe going," said Philipp Groborsch, EYOF 2015 chief executive.

"We are looking forward to many spectators and a huge party in the centre of Schruns."

Vertigo, whose sound ranges between alternative rock and indie, were the winner of this year's Conrad-Sohm talent contest.

They have a lot of stage experience and have already performed at the Feldkirch Poolbar and the Frequency Festival in Lower Austria, among others.

Their first single has been released, while the second is in production and will be presented in a few weeks.

"It will be lots of fun, we are really looking forward to it," said singer and drummer, Robin Kind.

"We will create a special show, just for the EYOF public."

Linksabbiega, who are currently rehearsing for the EYOF show, have already presented their hits at the Feldkirch Poolbar, the Spielboden Dornbirn, the Conrad-Sohm talent contest, the FM4 Protest Song Contest and the Austrian Freeski Open in Kaprun.

"It is a unique possibility to perform at such a mega sport event," said band member Philipp Böhler.

"I saw pictures of the Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck 2012 - it was such a huge party.

"We are really looking forward to our gig in Schruns."

Bassist, Edi Gruber, added: "For us it is going to be the biggest gig in our career."
