All three nations held 100 per cent records coming into today's two sessions, however, it was not to be for Finland as they fell 7-4 to defending champions Sweden in this evening's action.

The Swedes took the early advantage with a point in the opening two ends for a 2-0 lead.

This would be extended to 3-0 in the fourth end before Finland finally got on the scoreboard at 3-1.

After securing singles in the eighth, ninth and tenth ends, Finland pulled the score level at four apiece to take the tie to extra-time.

Sweden would hit back in this, however, as they left three stones in the house at the end of play to take the match 7-4 and end the four match unbeaten run of the Finns.

Finland had beaten Estonia in a comfortable 8-2 win in the early session.

The Russian women's team would have better luck in Switzerland as they recorded back to back win to extend their unbeaten to five.

Both wins came with relative ease for the hosts of Sochi 2014 as they strolled past Latvia and Scotland with 10-2 and 8-2 scorelines respectively.

Former men's world champions Sweden proved their dominance on the European circuit as they added a fifth victory of the tournament against defending champions Switzerland.

The Swiss took the earlier advantage in this encounter but would soon be pegged back as Sweden stepped through the gears.

Two points in the fourth end and a further two in the seventh would all-but seal the win for Sweden as they ran out 8-5 victors in this clash of the titans.

Behind Sweden on the table, Germany, Italy, Norway and Russia all moved into joint second place, each on three wins and two losses along with Switzerland.
