Infront Sports & Media, the exclusive marketing partner of the Austrian Ski Federation and the German Ski Federation, secured the commitment of Intersport which holds a long tradition and affiliation with ski jumping.

For more than 25 years, the brand was the main and title sponsor of the Springertournee, renamed the Vierschanzentournee in 1995, and resumed its involvement as main sponsor in 2013.

Under the partnership, Intersport will benefit from comprehensive advertising opportunities in prime locations at the four event venues, including Infront's state-of-the-art LED advertising boards, the start backdrop, the coaches tower, the video wall and the stadium exit gate.

"After the main sponsorship commitment last year was crowned with success, we now want to lead the orchestra," said Franz Julen, chief executive of Intersport.

"Winter sports account for €1.7 billion (£1.3 billion,$2.2 billion) of sales, so is a key focus for Intersport.

"As the presenting sponsor of the Vierschanzentournee, we can emphasise our winter sport passion even more and become an integral part of the season's skiing highlight with our brand.

"In the host countries, Germany and Austria, Intersport has held a dominant market position for many years and today operates through more than 1,800 stores."

"The fact that two months ahead of its start, all top packages are sold, underlines the popularity and media potential of this platform.

"With Intersport on board, the sponsor group is led by a brand that can look back on a long-term tradition in ski jumping.

"Within the emotional environment of the Vierschanzentournee, Intersport can directly approach and enthuse its target audiences in Europe."

Alfons Schranz, President of the Vierschanzentournee, is delighted about the continuation and expansion of the partnership.

"As one can see from our shared history, Intersport and the Vierschanzentournee fit together excellently," he said.

"Both brands embody the combination of tradition and innovation and represent the special element of sport."

Other major international brands such as car manufacturer Audi, home, office and workshop retailer Bauhaus and insurance company Generali have also been secured as main sponsors by Infront for the 2014-2015 season.

Each will use the Vierschanzentournee's four competitions in Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck and Bischofshofen for brand communications.
