The 21-strong squad is made up of 13 English, four Welsh and four Scottish swimmers, including Ross Murdoch and Hannah Miley, who lit up the Tollcross International Swimming Centre during Glasgow 2014.

Miley took gold in the women's 400 metres individual medley before picking up bronze in the 200m event, while Murdoch memorably saw off the challenge of compatriot and London 2012 silver medallist Michael Jamieson in the men's 200m breaststroke.

Jamieson is also part of the squad along with fellow Scot Stephen Milne, who was in the team that won 4x200m freestyle relay silver in Glasgow.

Jazz Carlin and Georgia Davies lead the Welsh contingent alongside Daniel Jervis and Calum Jarvis.

Carlin claimed Commonwealth Games gold in the women's 800m freestyle along with silver in the 400m freestyle, while 50m backstroke gold went to Davies in addition to silver in the 100m event.

Jervis and Jarvis secured bronze in the men's 1,500m freestyle and 200m freestyle respectively.

Meanwhile, England secured 28 swimming medals in Glasgow that included 10 gold.

Ben Proud, Adam Peatty, Chris Walker-Hebborn and Fran Halsall all came away from Glasgow with two gold medals apiece.

Peaty and Walker-Hebborn won gold in the men's 100m breaststroke and 100m backstroke respectively, while both were part of the England team that were crowned champions in the 4x100m individual medley relay.

Proud powered to victory in the men's 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle while Halsall touched home first in the women's 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly.

Women's 200m individual medley champion Siobhan-Marie O'Connor and 100m breaststroke gold medallist Sophie Taylor are also named, as is Adam Barrett, who secured 4x100m individual medley relay gold alongside Peaty and Walker-Hebborn, as well as individual bronze in the 100m butterfly.

Also in the squad are Aime Willmott, who claimed two silver medals in Glasgow, and bronze medallists James Guy, Andrew Willis and Molly Renshaw.

Jack Burnell and Jay Lelliot complete the Podium squad, which identifies athletes who have the potential to medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The athletes will also receive targeted financial assistance through an Athlete Personal Award (APA) in addition to training camp and competition opportunities, sports science and medicine services, and the support of British Swimming world-class programme staff.

"This APA funding programme is a vital investment in future performance," said British Swimming national performance director Chris Spice.

"It will provide valuable support to athletes for their continued preparation and development for success in 2016 and beyond.

"In defining our nominations to UK Sport, we performed a detailed analysis of athletes and their performances before meeting them face-to-face to discuss the pursuit of their goals in Rio or Tokyo.

"We have had to make some very tough decisions this year due to some outstanding performances last season, especially by our younger athletes.

"I'd like to thank UK Sport and the National Lottery for their continued investment which ensures our athletes are among the best supported in the world.

"The challenge for us all is to build on the solid foundation of last season and make 2015 even better."
