Generations For Peace is dedicated to sustainable peace building and conflict transformation through sport, arts, advocacy, dialogue and empowerment ©GFPDelegates and pioneers of Generations for Peace (GFP), a Jordan-based global non-profit organisation, marked the International Day of Peace by adopting #TagForPeace across their social media platforms to raise awareness of the date.

GFP delegates and pioneers are passionate about strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.

The digital campaign enables volunteers, media, friends and family to post messages of peace, using the hashtag to develop a trend that will engage thousands of others.

The resulting social reach of 232,537 to date has already amplified the campaign's message across several social media platforms.

"The hard work our delegates, pioneers and young volunteers contribute all year round is inspirational," said HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, co-founder and chairman of GFP.

"Their online social media campaign to mark this International Day of Peace is just one of many displays of their true passion and commitment to promote active tolerance and responsible citizenship in communities experiencing different forms of conflict and violence around the world."

Volunteers in Georgia, Jordan, Lebanon, Somalia and Palestine are creating videos and donating their social reach to the campaign.

"Today is a reminder of the idea of living in harmony free from fear of closed social doors, emergency calls, news broadcasts, mistrust and direct violence," said Tornike Chargeishvilli, a GFP pioneer from Georgia, after posting a video.

"It is also a reminder of humanity's many mistakes, for which we have paid a high price.

"But hope can be found, and the #TagForPeace campaign emphasises our crucial role in fostering positive social change.

"It says that peace starts within each one of us."

GFP joins millions of other people around the world taking part in activities, events, concerts and festivals to celebrate the International Day of Peace, and thereby promotes peace as a fundamental human right for all.
