IPC Ice Sledge Hockey has launched a new look website ©IPCIce sledge hockey's online presence has been given a new look after the launch of a website for both the sport itself and for the World Championships taking place in Buffalo, New York next year.

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Ice Sledge Hockley website features the latest news, events, results and rankings, and gives the sport a bolder digital identity to better showcase its international athletes and brand, claims the IPC.

The move comes after the IPC announced in July the launch of a new World Series that will see nations from both the A and B pools competing against each other for end-of-season ranking points.

The new series aims to bring together matches that currently take place between countries as well as incorporate new fixtures in order to formalise a competition calendar.

It is also hoped the move will provide the sport, teams and athletes with more exposure ahead of the World Championships A-Pool scheduled for Buffalo, in the United States from April 24 to May 2 next year.

A new Buffalo 2015 website has also been launched today as the build-up to next year's Championships at the Harbourcentre continues.

It will mark the third time the Championships have been held in the US, following the 2000 edition in Utah and 2008 in Marlborough, Massachusetts.

The US team made history in Sochi earlier this year by winning back-to-back Paralympic titles with victory over hosts Russia in the final at the Winter Paralympic Games.

The Russians will join the hosts - looking for a third World Championship crown - in Buffalo alongside reigning world champions Canada, Czech Republic, Norway, Italy, Germany and Japan.
