Hwang, a graduate of Oxford University, currently practices as a barrister and arbitrator, with his main focus on international arbitration.

Six CAS arbitrators have also been selected form the tribunal.

They are South Korean Dong Su, Australian Bruce Collins, Catherine Davani from Papua New Guinea, China's Chi Liu, Vietnam;s Thi My Dung Nguyen and Vinayak Pradhan from Malaysia. 

The office in Incheon, which will be based at the Oakwood Premier Hotel, will be headed by the Lausanne-based CAS secretary general, Matthieu Reeb.

The creation of the ad hoc division follows an agreement signed in 2010 between the Olympic Council of Asia and the CAS. 

A total of 13,000 athletes and officials are expected to take part in the Games, which is due to open next Friday (September 19) and last for 16 days.

The temporary CAS office in Incheon will open four days in advance of the Opening Ceremony to ensure that participants have free access to justice rendered within time limits that keep pace with the competitions.

If it has to hear any disputes, Hwang will appoint a panel composed of either one or three arbitrators and a hearing will be rapidly convened.

Disputes that the ad hoc division may hear could include selection issues, drugs cases and judging controversies. 

The ad hoc division will aim to announce its decisions within 24 hours.
