It is sponsored by the United Nations Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP) to foster the next generation of leaders.

The 12-day programme at Honam University, due to take place from August 19 to 30 and which follows last year's also held in Gwangju, will see 34 young people from Asia and Oceania taking part.

They will get involved in leadership training, theoretical and practical training on sports, peace and education, and sports activities.

Volunteers must be aged between 18 and 25 and be able to communicate in English.

They will go through a document screening process after a phone interview, with final selections being made at the end of July.

The selected volunteers will complete job training in August and be utilised during the programme as interpreters, event management support staff and assistants.

A volunteer certificate, authorised by UNOSDP and Gwangju 2015, will be given to all participating volunteers.
