March 27 - Glasgow 2014 are searching for bloggers to join its Team 14 in the build-up to this year's Commonwealth Games ©Glasgow 2014Glasgow 2014 have launched a search for 14 bloggers who are savvy with social media to help document the final few months of the countdown to the Commonwealth Games.

With just under 120 days to go until the Opening Ceremony in Celtic Park on July 23, bloggers are being invited to join Team 14 and attend Glasgow 2014 launch events and get up close and personal during the Queen's Baton Relay, as well as documenting the events taking place as part of the Culture 14 programme.

Organisers say they are looking for a wide range of talents and interests with an enthusiasm for social media, ranging from fashion bloggers to those with an eye for sport.

"Social media has played a pivotal role in a number of our campaigns to date, from generating a record-breaking response to our call for volunteers to the 2.3 million requests for tickets, the support we've had from the online community has been incredible," said Glasgow 2014 digital media manager Paul Giblin.

"As we turn into the home straight towards what we believe are the first truly social Games, Team14 offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to passionate bloggers and social media enthusiasts to play their own part in bringing the Games to life."

The search for Team 14 opens today and runs until Thursday April 10.

The Queen's Baton Relay is due to begin its trek around Scotland by visiting Edinburgh on June 14 before embarking on a 4,970 mile (8,000k kilometres) journey throughout Scotland which will see it visit more than 400 communities in 40 days.

Glasgow 2014 are due to reveal the 4,000 batonbearers selected to take part in the Relay on Monday March 31.
