Boxing Canada has now withdrawn from their hosting obligations, leaving AIBA having to search for a new host city.

"Unfortunately Boxing Canada couldn't find a venue that was available for the dates suitable for AIBA and as result Boxing Canada has had to withdraw from hosting the Women's Worlds," said Pat Fiacco, Boxing Canada President.

"We are looking forward to future opportunities."

Following the withdrawal, AIBA restarted the bidding process for the Championships with South Korea registering immediate interest in hosting the event.

With the  AIBA Congress also due to be held South Korea in November, the organisation decided to award the event to Jeju.

The cost effectiveness of having the event in the same location as the Congress, and because of a strong bid from South Korea, were the clinching factors, the AIBA admitted.

The competition will be held at the Halla Gymnasium of Jeju City, the largest city on the island of Jeju and is scheduled to take place between November 13 and November 25.
