February 13 - Tennis legend John McEnroe will be one of the stars taking part in matches on World Tennis Day in March ©Getty Images Eurosport has been announced as the exclusive live broadcaster in Europe of all six matches taking place on this year's World Tennis Day which will see current and past Grand Slam champions, including Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras, taking to the courts.

The six matches will be broadcast live on Eurosport and sister station Eurosport 2 on March 3, with events taking place across three continents in Hong Kong, London and New York.

Fresh from his semi-final appearance at last month's Australian Open, Czech Tomáš Berdych will take on two-time Grand Slam winner Lleyton Hewitt of Australia in Hong Kong, where they will be followed by China's Li Na who will take on Hewitt's compatriot and 2011 US Open champion Samantha Stosur.

Na is likely to receive the biggest cheer from the home crowd after she secured her second Grand Slam singles title at the Australian Open in Melbourne last month.

Coverage will then switch to London where the pace of action may be a bit slower but with no less skill on show as four veterans will do battle at London's Earls Court.

Former Wimbledon champion Pat Cash of Australia will attempt to roll back the years as he takes on eight-time Grand Slam winner Ivan Lendl while American superstars Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras will renew their long-standing rivalry also.

Sampras racked up an impressive 14 career Grand Slam titles - only bettered by Roger Federer – while Agassi has eight Grand Slams to his name.

Attention then switches to New York where two of the current stalwarts of the men's game will do battle as double Grand Slam champion Murray will take on great rival Djokovic, who currently has six Grand Slam wins under his belt.

"I'm excited about coming to the Garden," said Murray, who is coached by Lendl.

"Ivan has told me plenty of stories about matches and other events that have taken place there.

"There is so much history attached to the venue and it should be a great night for both Novak and me."

Before that, the crowd at Madison Square Garden will be treated to a battle of the brothers as reigning Olympic champions and 15-time Grand Slam winners Bob and Mike Bryan will take on John and Patrick McEnroe in what is sure to be an entertaining contest.

John has seven Grand Slam singles titles as well as 10 doubles titles, while Patrick claimed the French Open men's doubles crown in 1989 with partner Jim Grabb.

In addition to broadcasting all six matches, Eurosport's coverage will also include the channel's regular tennis magazine programme "Game, Set & Mats", which will be broadcast live from Earls Court and be presented by Annabel Croft and seven-time men's singles Grand Slam winner, Mats Wilander.

This will be the second edition of World Tennis Day which was launched last year by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and sports marketing firm StarGames to promote tennis and increase participation among young players around the globe.

Eurosport also has the digital rights of all matches and will show them live and on demand on Eurosport Player, its online simulcast TV service.

"It would have been impossible for us not to broadcast the World Tennis Day, as it so fully corresponds to Eurosport's DNA," said Arnaud Simon, Eurosport Group's TV content director.

"First, it's a day to promote tennis which we have done since our launch in 1989 with over 1,000 hours of live tennis every year.

"Secondly, it's a day for premium tennis, which is content we deliver every season with three Grand Slams, shows and world-class consultants.

"Finally, the World Tennis Day is a link between different generations and it's not by chance Eurosport has broadcast over the last 25 years all the stars participating in the event, from Agassi playing his first French Open final in 1990 to Djokovic winning his fourth Australian Open in 2013.

"For all these reasons we had to cover the World Tennis Day and continue the story between Eurosport and the promotion of tennis."
