Rajiv Ouseph moved a step closer to Daren Hall's all time record of 10 national singles titles as the England number one stormed to his seventh title in as many years.

The world number 10 fought back from match point down in his semi-final encounter against Ben Beckham to make his way to the final, where he comfortably beat Coventry's under-19 champion Sam Pearson 21-9, 21-8 to secure the title.

"I am 27 now and I would like to carry on to the Rio Olympics which would mean I could get to nine," he said.

"But I'll just take it a year at a time."

The doubles competitions were dominated by the husband and wife duo of Chris and Gabby Adcock as the couple took the mixed, women's and men's doubles titles.

First up was Gabby, who secured her fifth straight women's doubles title to move on par with former England stars Donna Kellogg (2005-2009) and Maggie Beck (1967-71).

Adcock, along with partner Lauren Smith, sealed their second doubles title together – Adcock won three titles with former partner Jenny Wallwork – by beating Heather Olver and Kate Robertshaw 21-10 21-19 in the final.

This victory was followed up shortly after by husband Chris Adcock, who regained the men's doubles title won in 2012, alongside partner Andy Ellis.

The pair overcame reigning champions Chris Langridge and Peter Mills 21-18, 21-11 in a repeat of the 2012 final.

The Adcocks returned to court together in the mixed doubles where the couple recaptured the title they won in 2012 - when still just engaged - to become the first married couple to win the title since David and Jenny Horton in 1967.

The pair left reigning champions Langridge and Olver disappointed yet again in the competition following a final scoreline of 21-18, 21-16.

"Obviously we really wanted to get our National title back and I'm really happy with getting the double win today," said Gabby Adcock.

Chris added: "The arena was really good, it looked amazing and it's been a good event being in Milton Keynes for the first time, we really enjoyed it.

"We've probably enjoyed it more than most coming away with two titles each, and from what I've heard from everyone here it's just been a great event."

The women's singles title fell into the hands of yet another top seed, as Sarah Walker came from a set behind to beat five-times champion Elizabeth Cann 18-21, 21-9, 21-17.

Cann, the 2010 Commonwealth bronze medallist who plans to represent Jersey at Glasgow 2014, is 35 next month and would have become the oldest player to lift the women's singles trophy had she been able to build on a 13-9 lead in the deciding game.

The England team will now head to Basel, Switzerland to take part in the European men's and Women's Team Championships from February 11 to 16.
