Belek/Antalya, in Turkey, will soon open the state-of-the-art Gloria Olympic Arena.

It will offer facilities for a range of Olympic and non-Olympics sports, including athletics, swimming, gymnastics, boxing, fencing, judo, wrestling, handball, basketball, volleyball and weightlifting.

Belek hosted the World Archery Championships and the 50th World Archery Congress last year.

The events attracted more than 400 competitors from 69 nations and the competition's finals were broadcast on Eurosport, a Silver Partner of SportAccord Convention 2014.

Shortly after the SportAccord Convention, Belek will welcome the Turkish Airlines Ladies Golf Open from May 8 to 14, a key feature of the Ladies European Tour since 2010.

"We are very much looking forward to SportAccord Convention 2014 in Belek/Antalya," said Nis Hatt, SportAccord Convention managing director.

"They are building an incredibly strong, varied and interesting profile in sport and we are excited to be a part of that.

"Attendees of this year's event will no doubt be blown away by the beauty of the location and all that it has to offer."

Serenas Group, the local organising committee behind SportAccord Convention 2014, has been working on projects with the Turkish Olympic Committee for the past three years.

Mustafa Fethi Gürbüz, chief executive of Serenas Group, said: "As well as its rich history, Belek offers numerous high quality hotels with experienced staff, 50,000 beds and 2,500 meeting halls of various sizes.

"It also has 52 football fields, a major archery training and contest area, 15 golf courses and 60 tennis courts.

"With an Olympic complex on the way, it is an outstanding venue for any sporting event."

A number of exciting social and cultural activities are planned for delegates at the SportAccord Convention.

These include a golf tournament at a Nick Faldo-designed course in Belek and bespoke tours around the Old City, Aspendos, Perge and other cultural and natural highlights.

The 2014 SportAccord International Convention, the 12th edition of the annual world sports summit, is due to be held in Belek/Antalya from April 6 to 11.
