January 21 - Glasgow 2014 has announced a new partner that will operate a Polyclinic at the Athletes' Village during the Games ©Glasgow 2014GL events Field & Lawn Limited has been announced as an official overlay and temporary structures provider for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

GL events Field & Lawn Limited is a joint venture between global event solutions company GL events and Scottish-based marquee hire company Field & Lawn Limited, which has branches in Edinburgh, Bristol and Manchester.

The latest Glasgow 2014 partner will be responsible for operating a 24-hour Polyclinic enclosure based in the Athletes' Village that will provide medical services including emergency dental care, physiotherapy and sports massage services to athletes and team officials throughout the Games.

It will also provide marquees and other structures for use at a number of Games venues, including the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, the Emirates Arena, Tollcross International Swimming Centre and the Scotstoun Sports Campus.

These temporary structures, known as overlay, will be used for a variety of purposes at Games venues from medical to merchandise tents and are essential to the delivery of safe, enjoyable and well-organised Games, according to Glasgow 2014.

GL events has experience of providing services for major international sporting events in recent years including at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil last year and the Six Nations Rugby Championship.

It has also worked at G20 summits in France and China.

The new venture will join Arena Group, who were also announced as providers of overlay and temporary structures at Glasgow 2014 last month.
