Sochi 2014 has announced its latest partnership with Russian IT firm I TecoSeptember 26 - Russian information technology company I-Teco has become the latest supplier of next year's Winter Olympic Games in Sochi where they will provide a "unified identification system" aiding Olympic staff and media, it has been announced today.


A range of services will be provided, including electronic food vouchers, to help Games staff obtain food and deferred printing facilities for use in the media centre.

The system, which will provide user authentication based on radio frequency technology, will be used at all venues and will be operated and maintained by I-Teco specialists.

It will also form part of the wider Sochi 2014 Games-technology solution developed and managed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) partner Atos.

This has already been successfully trialled at a number of test events in Sochi this year and the incorporation of I-Teco - a leading company with over 2,000 staff - is expected to enable further improvements.

"The experienced specialists of the Russian developer and provider, I-Teco, with whom we will cooperate with as a single united team, will ensure the successful management of the wide range of technical tasks required."

Aleksey Remizov, chairman of the Board of Directors of I-Teco, was similarly pleased with the announcement of the deal.

"For our company, the provision of unique IT services to Games participants has become, to a certain extent, a challenge to demonstrate the huge intellectual potential in resolving the most complicated humanitarian tasks on the basis of our own innovative developments," he said.
