September 25 - Who will be lifting the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco in 2015?Moroccan cities Rabat, Marrakech, Agadir and Tangier will be the host cities for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced.

But Casablanca, which staged the final of the 1988 Africa Cup of Nations - the previous time the tournament was held in Morocco - and which has the largest stadium in the country, has been chosen only as the reserve venue for the 2015 edition.

Cameroon emerged victorious 25 years ago, which saw the eight-team tournament played in the capital Rabat and Casablanca.

But there will be 16 teams battling it out to become the kings of Africa in 2015, when the tournament is due to kick off on January 17 and run through until February 7.

Nigeria are the defending champions after overcoming Burkina Faso at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg earlier this year and the Super Eagles will be looking to claim a fourth continental crown, following previous wins in 1980 and 1994.

Two of the cities named as 2015 hosts will make history in December of this year as Marrakech and Agadir will stage the first ever FIFA Club World Cup to be played on African soil, while in December 2011, Marrakech and Tangiers were the main venues for the CAF under-23 African Championships which doubled up as the African football qualifying tournament for London 2012.

CAF has also confirmed that the Libyan Football Federation (LFF) has submitted venues and cities for approval for its hosting of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Due to the political and civil upheaval surrounding the removal of long-time leader Colonel Gaddafi from power in 2011, this year's Africa Cup of Nations was belated moved to South Africa from original hosts Libya.

The North African state hosted the tournament before in 1982.

The Libyans revealed plans to build a new 60,000 capacity stadium in the Tripoli suburb of Tajoura earlier this year, while there are reportedly a proposal in place to build a second stadium in Misrata with a capacity of 23,000 and matches will also take place in the eastern city of Benghazi.
