Davies, who won F42/44 discus gold at London 2012, is looking forward to getting back to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and being part of the free event marking the one year anniversary of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, and which also includes the Mayor of London's Liberty Festival; an annual showcase of deaf and disabled artists.

"London 2012 was the most incredible Paralympic Games and I have such fantastic memories of the time that I spent at the Olympic Park, be it in the stadium, in the Village or spending time with the fans who had come to cheer on the ParalympicsGB team," said the 22-year-old who won discus and shot put gold at last month's International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletics World Championships in Lyon.

"I cannot wait to come back to the Park on September 7 to re-live that amazing time in my life and to celebrate National Paralympic Day.

"National Paralympic Day is a great idea.

"It's important that, outside a Paralympic Games, there are opportunities to showcase disability sport and that we can build on this interest to encourage people to get involved, whether that be through sporting participation, coaching and volunteering or by showing your support as a fan."
