Christine Ohuruogu has been signed-up by Virgin Media as an ambassador for Glasgow 2014August 22 - World 400 metres champion Christine Ohuruogu has been signed up by Virgin Media as an ambassador for its sponsorship of next year's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where she will take a starring role alongside Usain Bolt.

Virgin Media are the Presenting Partner of Athletics, which is due to take place at Hampden Park during Glasgow 2014 and where Ohuruogu is expected to be one of the main attractions.

The 29-year-old Londoner regained her world 400m title in Moscow earlier this month, adding it to the first gold medal she had won at Osaka in 2007 and the Olympic gold medal she had won at Beijing 2008.

"Christine has consistently shown that the rest just can't keep up with her incredible speed so what better ambassador for Virgin Media and our superfast broadband?" said Jeff Dodds, Virgin Media's chief marketing officer.

"She's part of a stellar 'Team Virgin Media' and will be a great representative for us as we look ahead to Glasgow 2014.

"We've been talking with Christine for some time now so it's with great pleasure that we've signed this sponsorship deal now she's done the double.

"Now we're getting excited about 2014 as I know Christine hopes to compete for what could be yet another double - her second Commonwealth Games gold next year in Glasgow."

"I hope the atmosphere and support in Glasgow in 2014 will be the same all over again.

"Working with Virgin Media, we want to get people from all over the Home Nations excited about another amazing sporting spectacular that's right on our doorstep."
