Philippines celebrate a one-two finish in the womens golfAugust 20 - Mia Legaspi and the wonderfully named Princess Superal earned Philippines their first two medals here with a superb one-two finish in the inaugural Asian Youth Games golf competition as Chun An Yu took the men's title.

Despite being the youngest golfer in the field, Legaspi showed a maturity to defy her 14 years to shoot rounds of 66 over the opening two days before holing eight birdies in her final round to finish 15 under par and four shots clear of compatriot Superal.

Legaspi continued the form which has seen her win six titles in the United States in 2013 and she afterwards admitted to feeling "very proud but also that I deserve this because I have been working really hard."

Aged just one year older Yu was similarly impressive in the men's event as he never looked like losing after a first round of 64 to eventually finish two shots clear of an India's Manu Gandas and Thailand's Danthai Boonma in the minor medal positions.

In what is likely to become a familiar script it was China's evening here as the host nation won a stunning eight out of ten available titles on the second night of athletics action.

Zhenkun Xia held off Thailand's Nuttapong Veeravongratanasiri to win the showpiece men's 100 metres while Manqi Ge did likewise in the women's event.

There were also home victories in the men's 400m, 1500m and hammer and the women's 400m, 1500m and pole vault, while the two other titles went to Taipei's Chun-Sheng Huang in the men's long jump and Thailand's Mingkamon Koomphone in the women's hammer

In Fencing there were two more Chinese titles for Xinyuan Gu and Peiying Zong in the men and women's epee respecitvely while Weiyun Deng added yet another in the women's trap shooting as she held her nerve to defeat Iran's Marziyeh Nia Parvaresh in a thrilling shoot-out.

South Korea took the other shooting gold in the 10m pistol and it was also their day in the pool as they added three more titles to the two they claimed yesterday after Jaeyung Kim in the men's 50m breastroke and Dasol Im in the women's 100m backstroke before Kim gained a second title as part of a victorious 4x100m freestyle relay quartet.
