August 16 - bts 1Catering and events company BTS has agreed to provide culinary and logistics services to US television network NBC during the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games and the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.


The San Diego-based company has worked at all summer and winter Olympic Games since Sydney 2000, and will work with the television network to provide catering and hospitality services for nearly 4,000 members of the United states and international media as well as corporate sponsors at all Olympic venues during the upcoming Games in Sochi and Rio.

Founded in 1985, BTS has also provided catering services at other major events such as the Red Bull Air Races, ESPN's X-Games and the Rose Bowl Football Game.

"Our background, experience, and quality reputation within the Olympic movement continues to grow.

NBC has broadcast every Olympic Games in the US since 2000, and in June 2011 it agreed a new broadcasting rights deal with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) covering Sochi 2014, Rio 2016, Pyeonchang 2018 and the 2020 Olympics.

The overall rights package saw NBC pay $775 million (£495 million/€580 million) for Sochi 2014, $1.226 billion (£784 million/€919 million) for Rio 2016, $963 million (£615 million/€721 million) for Pyeonchang 2018, and $1.418 billion (£906 million/€106 billion) for the 2020 Olympics, which will be staged in Madrid, Tokyo or Istanbul.
