Dame Sarah Storey pregnantAugust 12 - Dame Sarah Storey, Britain's most successful female Paralympian, has revealed she was still training only moments before she went into labour with her daughter earlier this year.

The 35-year-old cyclist, winner of four gold medals at London 2012, taking her career total to 11, told Hello! magazine that she went into labour in June shortly after completing a training session on a stationary bike.

"I was in the garden on the static bike and the contractions started as soon as I got off," she told the celebrity magazine.

Dame Sarah - who received a DBE in the 2013 New Year Honours List - did her last road ride, on a bike modified for her pregnancy, four days before she gave birth.

Dame Sarah and her husband, Barney Storey, himself a triple Paralympic gold medallist, appear in the latest issue of Hello! with daughter Lousia Marie and reveals how difficult the birth was.

"Louisa got stuck with the cord wrapped around her," Dame Sarah told Hello!.

"Even though I'd never gone through this before, I just had this instinct that it wasn't right.

"I said, 'I really don't think this baby is coming out the way you want it to'.

"I don't want you to cut me open, but I think you'll have to."

But Dame Sarah still plans to compete at Rio 2016, where she will be looking to add to her total of 22 Paralympic medals.
