Eric Murray and Hamish BondJuly 13 - Olympic champions Eric Murray and Hamish Bond held off the challenge of the London 2012 silver medallists, Germain Chardin and Dorian Mortelette of France to win their men's pairs semi-final at Lucerne and set themselves up for victory in tomorrow's final at the third Samsung World Rowing Cup of the season.

Italy's Laura Milani and Elisabetta Sancassani, who has moved down from heavyweight rowing, maintained their unbeaten record this season as they won their semi-final in the lightweight women's double sculls, beating the New Zealand pairing of Julia Edward and Lucy Strack.

Ondřej Synek of the Czech Republic, the Olympic silver medallist and former world single sculls champion, underlined his favourite status by overhauling and beating Britain's Olympic bronze medallist Alan Campbell, who led over the first 500m.

Eleanor Logan, a member of the victorious United States eight at the London 2012 Games, appears to be going from strength to strength in her new event of the single sculls.

Logan, who has already won two World Cup bronze medals this season, was a comfortable winner of her semi-final, but Olympic champion Miroslava Knapková finished an ominously comfortable second in the other semi.

Four of Britain's Olympic champions will feature tomorrow, with Helen Glover racing the women's pair with Polly Swann.

Andy Triggs Hodge, Peter Reed and Alex Gregory are all part of the men's eight, who were among those to win repechages today.

The World Cup in Switzerland is the last major event before next month's World Championships in South Korea.
