Sveriges Television logoJune 13 - Sveriges Television (SVT), Sweden's public broadcaster, has extended it deal for the rights to broadcast International Ski Federation (FIS) Nordic World Cup events taking place in Finland until the end of the 2015-2016 season.

As part of the agreement with the Infront Sports and Media agency, the new contract includes live, delayed and highlights coverage of all Finish World events in cross country, ski jumping and Nordic combined.

The new contract adds to SVT's existing coverage of the global series, which has seen it air around 120 races this season, including more than 50 hours of cross country races – mostly on a live basis.

Cross country skiing has proved the sport's most popular discipline in Sweden, with the 2013 Tour de Ski achieving an average audience share of 50 per cent and the Cross Country World Cup gathering a 44 per cent share, which peaked at 70 per cent when the event when to La Clusaz in France.
