Utah Olympic ParkJune 3 - Utah Olympic Park, the site of Salt Lake City 2002, has been named as the host venue of the United States Olympic ski jumping and Nordic combined trials for Sochi 2014at the end of this year.

Among the top contenders expected to head to Park City on December 28 and 29 in the hope of being nominated for a place on the US Olympic team will be Vancouver 2010 Nordic combined champion Bill Demong and world champion ski jumper Sarah Hendrickson.

NBC has been named to broadcast the events, offering live coverage of ski jumping, including the historic first Olympic trials for women - with the discipline set to make its Olympic debut at Sochi 2014, and a look at the US Nordic combined ski team that won one gold and three silver medals at Vancouver 2010.

"I have watched my older teammates fight to get women's ski jumping into the Games and it would be a huge honour to be a part of this first gender-equal Olympics," 18-year-old Hendrickson said.

"As we look forward to December and the 2014 US Olympic trials that will be hosted in Park City, I only get more excited and dedicated to work hard until that moment.

"It has been a huge dream of mine to make the team and it will be far from easy."
