Ganna BuriakMay 11 - Ukraine's Ganna Buriak took her second successive victory in the women's final of the fourth event in the UIPM World Cup at Budapest in Hungary as compatriot Victoria Tereshuk took silver.


Having claimed her first major senior international victory at the third World Cup event in China last month, Buriak produced another superb display in the Hungarian capital.

She started well by finishing second in the fencing before taking twelfth in the swimming and then ninth in the ride shared pole position in the combined.

Buriak's strong running and precise shooting in the final discipline saw her eventually storm to an easy gold and she expressed her delight at taking her second straight win.

"I cannot believe it," she said.

"It feels great and I am just so happy.

"It is a fantastic achievement for me."

Tereshuk produced a stunning performance in the final run/shoot event to move from eighth on the starting grid all the way to second place to claim the silver medal, which followed her gold medal triumph in the Palm Springs in the first World Cup Series event of the year.

Britain's world champion Mhairi Spence took the bronze medal behind the two Ukrainians.
