Adana wheelchair basketballMay 10 - Turkish city Adana has been confirmed as the host city of the as under-23 wheelchair basketball men's World Championship by International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) President Maureen Orchard after apparent "problems" with the host city were solved.


Orchard said that following discussions with Organising Committee chief, Ali Duran Karakaya, that the issues had been resolved and the Championship would remain in Adana.

She will now return to Adana in June for a final visit and to make the group draws.

United States, the current world champions, will attempt to defend their title against Canada, Mexico, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Sweden and South Africa and three teams from Asia/Oceania that are yet to be determined.

Australia, Japan, Iran, Malaysia and Thailand will battle it out in the final qualification tournament, which will take place in Bangkok this June, before the World Championships kick off on September 5 to 15.
