Prince competed at the last Summer Universiade in Shenzhen two years ago, and has also represented Australia at three World Championships.

She will compete in Kazan on the back of a seven-week tour of Europe, in which she is due to compete at five competitions in five countries, two of which are World Cup events.

"I can't wait to compete in Russia," she said.

"I'm really happy with how things are going and confident in my preparation at the moment,

"I've had a busy start to the competition season and it's not about to slow down any time soon.

"I'll be competing at the Australian Championships one week prior to the Universiade and only weeks afterwards, I'll be back in Russia for a World Cup and finally onto Ukraine for the World Championships."

"This year is all about building competition experience at major events as I aim for Commonwealth Games selection next year."

Prince and her team mate Sung will face tough competition from the Chinese and the Russian gymnasts - competing on home soil in Kazan - that dominated in Shenzhen in 2011.

Rhythmic gymnastics events are due take place at the Gymnastics Centre from July 14 until 16, with eight gold medals on offer.
