antonija-misura-cestista-croata-a-londra-2012-10May 7- Croatian basketball player Antonija Mišura - voted as the most beautiful woman competing at London 2012 - is set to make a transition to politics as a candidate for the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) in her home town of Šibenik.

Mišura gained a number of admirers for her looks at London 2012, including Chicago Bulls point guard Nate Robinson who tweeted that she "might be the most beautiful woman basketball player ever to lace up some sneakers" during the Games, but the 24-year-old Toulouse player has referred to the attention she receives for her appearance as "both flattering and annoying".

"It would not be a problem for me to attend City Assembly sessions even by travelling from France on one day" said Mišura, who was part of the Croatian team which finished tenth at London 2012.

The 24-year-old point guard signed her first contract outside of her home country with Ligue Féminine de Basketball side Toulouse last month, which is believed to run for three years.

In her final season with former club Šibenik, Misura averaged 18.5 points, four rebounds and 4.7 assists per game in the Croatian league.

She has been a part of HDZ's youth organisation for a number of years, and said that she is keen to help the centre-right party's chances at the upcoming elections, though it is unclear whether she would be allowed to take a position on the City Council due to her career in France.
