Russia, the United States, Canada and the Czech Republic have all secured qualification for the Sochi 2014 in South Korea by reaching the semi-final of the event leaving Norway, Italy, Korea and Sweden to battle it out in the playoffs today.

In the day's first game, Norway and Korea finished 1-1 to force a sudden-death overtime which saw Norway's Rolf Pedersen score the vital goal to put Norway in the fifth-place game.

Meanwhile in the second game of the day, Italy edged past Sweden 2-1 to book the match against Norway for fifth-place at the Championships.

The match will take place on Friday (April 19).

Prior to that, Korea and Sweden, both still winless at the Championships, will play for seventh place.

The semi-finals are due to take place tomorrow as Russia meet the reigning Paralympic and world champions United States and the Czech Republic face Canada.
