151106151April 5 - ParalympicsGB have announced that multi-world and Paralympic champions Jody Cundy and Hannah Cockroft will appear alongside a host of top British Paralympians at their next Sports Fest, which is due to be held in Sheffield at the English Institute of Sport later this month.

Following the success of the inaugural Sports Fest in December held at Surrey Sports Park where over 1,000 people attended, ParalympicsGB are hosting a second version of the event on Friday April 26 and Saturday April 27.

The free event aims to engage young disabled people and inspire them to get involved in sport, giving demonstrations of various disability sports and giving them the chance to meet Great Britain's Paralympic athletes.

Cyclist Cundy and wheelchair sprinter Cockroft will participate in the "Meet the Medallists" sessions alongside many fellow Paralympians such as 11-time gold medallist Dame Sarah Storey and Great Britain's bronze-medal winning table tennis team from London 2012, which will give fans the chance to meet the athletes, ask questions, get autographs and pose for photographs.

The athletes will also assist in sports demonstrations in the main hall.

"I'm really looking forward to attending Sports Fest", said five-time Paralympic gold medallist Cundy.

"On the cycling team we are always on the lookout for new talent and Sports Fest is a fantastic opportunity for disabled people to trial for the sports, or to just try out new activities."

Cockroft, who won two gold medals at London 2012, said: "We had some great success at the Paralympic Games last year; hopefully seeing some of the stars from London 2012 will give the people taking part the drive to get involved in sport whether that's for fun or on the elite stage."
