BBL-LogoJanuary 19 - The British Basketball League (BBL) Foundation have announced a partnership with Gatorade UK for their "Proj3kt 3on3" youth project.

"Proj3kt 3on3" is a project aimed at boys and girls between the ages of 16 and 19 featuring 3x3 matches run by BBL clubs across England.

The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) hope that 3x3 basketball will become part of the Olympic programme at Rio 2016, and "Proj3kt 3on3" gives young people the opportunity to get involved in the sport, which has already attracted over 2,000 young players since its inception in November 2012.

BBL Foundation chief operating officer Gary Atyes said: "We are delighted that Gatorade, who are an iconic global brand and the world leaders in sports nutrition and hydration, are supporting this important project aimed at motivating young people to take up basketball.

Gatorade UK will become the Sports Nutrition and Hydration Partner for "Proj3kt 3on3", and will be provided for competitors at events.

The BBL Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation established in June 2011 which aims to promote physical health and general well-being to people across the United Kingdom, particularly through basketball.
