SportAccord Convention 2013December 13 - SportAccord Conventions 2012's three gold partners – Contemporary International (CI), Macau Sport Development Board (MSDB) and Sport Event Denmark – have renewed their contracts and will be partnering next year's convention in Saint Petersburg in May, it has been announced.

The 11th annual convention, showcasing 2,000 leading representatives in international sport, driving positive change for the development of sport globally which is due to take to place between between May 26 and 31, is proud to feature all three of its top sponsors for a successive year, officials claimed.

"The continuing loyalty of our partners is one of the best indicators that our event delivers value for the companies that attend," said Nis Hatt, SportAccord Convention managing director.

"We are very proud of the ongoing vote of confidence that our partners give us from year to year."

Olympic and Paralympic Games event management specialists, Contemporary International, who were also this week announced as the event services provider to the Sochi 2014 Organising Committee, will participate as a gold partner for the ninth consecutive year.

"The group's global events company, Contemporary International (CI), is proud to be an Official Supplier of Event Services to Sochi 2014 and we believe the SportAccord Convention in Saint-Petersburg will provide a unique chance for us to build our profile and relationships in this important market", said CI President Stephen Mirabile.

"No other event gathers together the decision makers from multiple rights holders in the same numbers or in a better setting as SportAccord Convention.

"The event delivers quality on every level and we look forward to our participation as gold partners again in 2013."

Saint PetersburgThe 11th SportAccord Conventions will be held in Saint Petersburg, Russia, for the first time

The convention's longest serving partner, Danish bidding and hosting sports events leader – Sport Event Denmark – will be marking its 11th year as a partner and plays a valuable role in contributing to the development of sport in Denmark.

"We see it as a great opportunity to stay in contact with our international network, exchange ideas and engage in the discussions on sport event management" said Lars Lundov, chief executive officer of Sport Event Denmark.

"Our efforts have been focused on adding value to international events.

"For example the International Athletics Association Federation (IAAF) World Half Marathon 2014 in Copenhagen will for the first time include a mass participation race with 25,000 entries – out of which we only have 5,000 left for international participants - the rest is sold out.

"This requires more resources but the return is much higher in terms of the promotion of the sport for the International Federation whilst also developing participation in sport in Denmark."

Meanwhile, the convention will be another high profile event for six-year gold partners Macau Sport Development Board who's calendar this year has involved hosting international events including the 31st OCA General Assembly and FIVB World Grand Prix.

Vong Iao Lek, President of MSDB, commented: "SportAccord Convention is a very important event for us.

"It allows us to build relationships with International Sports Federations as well as providing us with a platform to communicate how we are promoting health, activity and well-being in Macau, using sports events as an inspiration for our population."

The six-day convention will be taking place at the Lenexpo Exhibition Complex in Saint Petersburg, Russia for the first time.
